Hello there, my name is Alaina…
I live and garden in the Willamette Valley, OR. I have grown up here in Oregon amongst the Douglas Fir, Sword Ferns, and Salmon berries. I think its safe to say that a majority of my favorite childhood memories involve berry stained fingers, being outdoors, and belly laughs with friends and family.
In 2016 I discovered my love of gardening and in tandem I discovered the therapeutic qualities of two hands in the soil and the sight of sprouts emerging from recently planted seeds. Running a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) season with my friend that year was the catalyst for me deciding to attend Oregon State University for a Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Horticulture, which I completed in 2020.
Two years later in 2022 The Everyday Sacred was born! I have learned that joy and fulfillment for me in life are often found at the intersection of the everyday and the sacred. Gardening and spending time in nature are two of these intersections for me. I am eternally learning from my relationship to this Earth I am a part of, and get to call home. I look forward to working together, bridging the everyday and the sacred.
